The Research Center is a campus for collaboration of scientists from all over the world. The main building of the campus is the Landscape Building, a complex architectural and engineering structure with an area of about 86,000 m2, the operation of which is provided by more than 160 engineering systems. Our team, together with the building's engineers, has developed a model designed for efficient operation.
Since its construction in 2007, the Landscape Building has carried out more than 120 individual renovation projects for public spaces, offices, and retrofitting laboratories. Each contractor developed a design model according to its own standards and provided the executive documentation in a separate form. As a result, there was not a single set of documentation reflecting the actual layout of the building and the condition of its engineering systems.
After a thorough inspection of the building's systems, laser scanning, collection and analysis of all existing documentation (in digital and paper form), our team step by step assembled a BIM model for operation in all sections (including automation and special laboratory environments), supplementing it with renovation registration models, simultaneously normalizing all incoming data. The resulting model was exported to the operating software, where, through joint efforts with the client's engineers, the digital twin is becoming more complex and supplemented with new information: new renovations are being added, CMMS and BAS are being integrated, and all operational activities for the maintenance of engineering systems are underway.
